Handsome Wallie with his shiny coat and sparkle in his eye has undergone a complete transformation since arriving to KAR. Found as a stray, this senior (estimated to be around 12-years old) pooch was severely underweight, completely matted, and had overgrown nails and rotten teeth. With a trip to the dentist, a healthy diet, grooming, and love and affection, Wallie has become a new dog.

Wallie is a special boy with a wonderfully-sweet, goofy, and gentle personality. While he is not overly physically affectionate, he loves tender head, neck, and back rubs and will never say no to a side-by-side cuddle on the floor. He also loves to be right beside his human companions and can get anxious when they are gone for long periods of time.

Wallie has been diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), which causes him to have some mobility issues. His foster family has been working with a specialist to determine the best way to manage these issues so that he can remain mobile and comfortable for as long as possible. Wallie has been undergoing rehabilitation therapy which includes laser and hydrotherapy and daily at-home exercises. Wallie also has a specialized harness so he can be assisted when going up and down stairs or when going in and out of a vehicle.

Because of his age and the IVDD, he would do best in a home without young children or high-energy pets who might inadvertently hurt him. He would be happy to share his home with another older, large dog and tolerates small dogs, cats and other small animals.

Wallie is looking for loving and patient human companions with which to share his golden years. Could this be you?
