  • Piper before and after

One year ago today, a very special, very tiny baby bun arrived at KAR. When Piper arrived she had a severe inner ear infection and was extremely sick. Piper's world was spinning constantly. She had absolutely no balance and spent her time rolling. It was heartbreaking to watch.

Unable to eat or drink on her own, she required syringe feeding for weeks and was on medication for months. Despite how painful and scary the infection must have been, our girl was a fighter. Even on the darker days, she was eager to fill her belly and snuggle in for some comforting cuddles.

Over the next few months, the infection gradually subsided and Piper's balance slowly returned. We are happy to report that one year later, Piper is happy and healthy and dearly loved by her forever family. The infection and spinning are gone and her chronic tilted head make her all the more special. Her unique view of the world does not slow her down and she is one of the happiest, most expressive bunnies we have ever met. Happy anniversary sweet Piper! We are honoured to have helped you and so grateful to know you. Thank you for the amazing lesson you taught us on perseverance and being brave.
