KAR was busy over the weekend once again! We assisted with a spay/neuter weekend spearheaded by Dr Megan Edwards from Barriefield Animal Hospital to help to stabilize a feral cat colony on Amherst Island.
We’ve been tracking an abandoned domestic rabbit for the last week and finally got a break today when we learned he was frequenting a particular yard.
Here’s lucky Ducky. He was found living stray last fall and was in very rough shape when he entered our care. Fast forward several months and he has transformed.
Yesterday we welcomed Buddy to the rescue. Originally found stray in Quebec, he was pulled from a kill shelter by Pound Paws.

We took in two sick senior rats in October. One had severe upper respiratory symptoms. The other had a very large mammary tumour.
A little more than a week ago, we assisted with the rescue of eight chinchillas that were abandoned in an apartment here in Kingston.
Pip came to us just about two years ago when her guardian passed away. She was diabetic and 12 years old, but spent the last few years happy in our care.
