Bean was in our care as a kitten in 2014. He was adopted with his brother, but shortly afterwards started suffering digestive issues. Eventually he was diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition that makes it difficult for food to reach the stomach. Bean came back into our care.
With the support of a wonderful foster home, he learned to eat with his front paws on a stool, which allows gravity to help food travel to his stomach, and to be burped after his meals. He is also on medication that keeps his system moving. After being in foster care for three years and despite his special needs, Bean was recently adopted by one of our most dedicated volunteers. Happy life, Bean!
