Simon and Kali are two very in love bunnies. Their story is the stuff of fairytales. Sweet, but sad and anxious Kali arrived in our care after being left at the regional pet hospital with a large neck wound that was self-inflicted. Within 24 hours she had ripped her stitches and then did it again before she was forced to wear a cone collar for her own protection. She was also placed on anti-anxiety and pain medication to help her feel more comfortable.
Simon came from a regional shelter after being found as a stray. In our care he became Kali’s neighbour. After realizing that Kali’s future happiness was in question due to her barbering and the need to wear a cone collar, we opted to bond Simon and Kali in the hopes that companionship would bring Kali the peace and balance she so desperately seemed to need. They hit it off immediately and moved in together the same day as their first date. That same day we were able to remove Kali’s cone collar and she never barbered herself again. All she needs was love.
